Growing up, I always was drawn to the arts and their ability to help change how we see the world. Into adulthood, design has brought out this ability and turned it into my passion. I have learned how small decisions can make a huge impact, and how inspiration and creativity is the catalyst for all things to start in this world. I believe that design's purpose is to create connections and joy, honor the past while bringing about something new, and overall use its power to improve lives. I find joy in collaboration, problem-solving, and finding the missing pieces that make design the tool for success.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

To not drown in comparison. Imposter syndrome is your worst enemy, and believing in yourself will always shine through brighter than any insecurities.

What's your favorite A+D memory?

My favorite memory of A+D is going to Italy the summer before senior year with my design friends, Professor Speaker and Professor Marks. Exploring art and culture with people who truly have a passion for it, as well as building bonds and experiences, created a once in a lifetime trip that I will never forget.

What was your favorite A+D class?

My favorite classes were Brand Identity Design and Advanced Design 1. Both classes gave me confidence in speaking about my work and decisions, allowing me to grow as both a designer and a professional.

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

Pitch Week 2025 was a pivotal moment for me because I got to present something to a panel of professionals that I had put so much work and research into. It was the first time I felt proud and confident in my work without letting comparison or self-doubt take over. It confirmed to myself that this is where I want to be and what I want to continue doing throughout my life.

What's next for you?

After graduation, I hope to surround myself with passionate individuals who share my love for helping others through design. Whether I stay locally or move across the country, my biggest hope is that I find something that makes me truly happy in my career, friendships and community.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

I hope my work makes an impact by fostering joy and creativity, sparking passion and conversation, and overall improving people's lives a little bit at a time.
