As an artist interested in the intersection of origins and memory, I am drawn to the subtle transformations in an individual’s life, and attempt to capture these themes through painting, drawing, and print. I’m interested in creating collections featuring dynamic linework to move viewers into questioning their connection with the piece. I want the viewers to feel the strength in the specificity of a moment, while also experiencing familiarity and a sense of nostalgia. Delving into nuanced emotion amidst the broader scope of universal human experiences fuels my work and my curiosity of human connections.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself not to be worried about falling out of love with art. The more I learn and the more hours I spend have only propelled my love for the work, and I cannot wait to create the rest of my life.

What's your favorite A+D memory?

Sharing music during the early morning studios.

What was your favorite A+D class?

Advanced Painting with Marks!!!!!!!!!

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

I loved the way our profs have always been so intentional. When he would take roll, Prof. K would look each student in the eye and say "I am so glad that you are here today." I learned that art isn't just about the work, it is also about building the community.

What's next for you?

I am planning on pursuing my masters degree internationally, while also keeping up my studio practice and teaching workshops.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

In our current era, we want everything to be fast and processed. All information is handed to us in bite sized pieces. I hope my work brings a certain gravitas to our busy minds, and will prompt viewers to ask themselves questions that can only be processed through reflective introspection.
