Design holds a unique power to inspire, spark emotion, and awaken our deepest passions. As a graphic designer, I value personalization at the core of my work, finding my creative energy in crafting designs that bring joy to others. Understanding how people will touch, interact with, hold, and ultimately experience a design is central to my ideation process. I strive to create thoughtful, engaging work that resonates on both a functional and emotional level
Excitement is one of my greatest motivators throughout the creative journey. I believe each stage of the design process offers an opportunity for exploration and play, and that sense of joy often becomes embedded in the outcome. Seeing others connect with and smile at something I’ve created fuels my passion. I also value embracing imaginative, even unconventional ideas, because when nurtured with intention, even the most playful concepts can evolve into something meaningful and impactful.
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?
I would tell myself to keep being me and never give up! A positive outlook on what we do is so important!
What's your favorite A+D memory?
I absolutely loved our class trip to Greenville for Branding. Exploring the local shops, sharing meals, and hiking the nature trail together was such a memorable and wonderful experience.
What was your favorite A+D class?
Advanced Design 2. This class really let me dive into my personal interests which allowed me to better understand my dream design roles and solidify my design philosophy.
What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?
Working with my wonderful team in History of Graphic Design to make the MidMod Dreamhouse was extremely influential in my self-confidence. My teammates were so supportive and this project was the beginning of me exploring ways to combine my skills from outside of design in a designerly way.
What's next for you?
I hope to design for organizations and environments that genuinely inspire me and align with my interests. Wherever my path leads, I aim to approach my work with enthusiasm and intention, striving to create meaningful contributions through every project I undertake. After graduation, I am committed to continuous growth, expanding my knowledge, exploring new interests, and refining my skills to further strengthen and inform my future design work.
How do you hope your work makes an impact?
If my work can create moments of joy and inspire others to cultivate and share that joy in their own way, I consider that a success. I strive to produce work that leaves others feelings as energized and inspired as I do so that they can make their own proud work.
