Xin chào, I'm Anh Nguyen! I believe design is more than visualization—it is a combination of deep research, problem-solving, creative thinking, and craftsmanship. My process focuses on connecting and collecting information to bridge the gap between the past and the present, much like the way I used design to connect cultures across time and place.

As a designer living between two vastly different cultures, my perspective, identity, and sense of belonging have continually shifted. Cultural encounters and exchanges have always inspired me, especially the challenge of weaving these lived experiences into my creative process. Whenever I create, I gravitate toward incorporating elements of my heritage—not only to honor where I come from, but also to share those cultural threads with others. At the same time, I immerse myself in research, exploring connections and documenting each stage of the process. This allows me to better understand my journey as a whole and complete a cycle—connecting inspiration, creation, and reflection.

Be present, stay connected with others, and don't compare yourself with others, everyone have to start somewhere and always stay ahead the plan for everything.

My favorite A+D memory is from the studio during critique prep, especially during Senior Symposia week. Watching everyone collaborate, share ideas, and support each other brought us closer and gave me a deeper appreciation for our community and the creative journey we shared.

My favorite A+D class is Branding. Although it was not my strongest project, I learned a lot from the experience. The class taught me how to make thoughtful design decisions, communicate with clients, conduct in-depth research on competitors, create audits, and develop a complete brand book. Moreover, the feedback I received was extremely valuable, and presenting in front of the panel helped me build confidence and improve my presentation skills. It taught me how to clearly communicate my ideas and deliver my brand more effectively and successfully.

I believe a pivotal moment in my journey as a designer was my photo exhibition, which explored my personal cultural experience as a Vietnamese living in America. The work reflected the meaningful contrasts between Asian and Western cultures, and it taught me how to translate my personal story into a visual narrative. Through this exhibition, I was able to share with audiences who I am and what I value, turning my experiences into a story that resonates beyond words

Moving forward, I want to join a community where our designs reflect an innovative mindset and shape the future of design through advanced skills and tools. I have a strong passion for motion graphics and advertising, and I hope to find a role where I can apply my creativity and problem-solving abilities to projects that improve people’s quality of life and create meaningful value through design.

I hope my work inspires people to see that being different is not something negative, but rather a source of inspiration and motivation. I aim for my work to celebrate respect and honor my own originality and heritage—the stories I carry with me across borders—while transforming these narratives into diverse creative projects.
