I am a culturally engaged designer who combines media analysis, visual aesthetics, and design to explore identity, representation, and storytelling across art, branding, and popular culture.
My creative practice centers on examining how identity, gender, and cultural narratives are constructed, performed, and consumed through graphic design. I approach design and storytelling as both aesthetic practice and cultural critique. Research and reflection ground my process, allowing concepts to drive form rather than the other way around. I ultimately seek to bridge critique and creation, not only interpreting the visual world around me, but contributing to it in ways that are thoughtful, self-aware, and resonant.
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?
To take in as much I can because it goes by fast, and to be around more in the cohort.
What's your favorite A+D memory?
Senior Symposia, seeing everyone show their design thinking showed me how far we have come as designers.
What was your favorite A+D class?
Branding
What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?
I think having the chance to really explore myself through Adv 2 made me so grateful and assisted in solidifying who I am now.
What's next for you?
I want to create designs for the people who need them most, whether that means helping a community see itself in new ways, amplifying overlooked voices, or traveling the world to demonstrate the power and possibility of design as a tool for connection, awareness, and meaningful change.
How do you hope your work makes an impact?
I hope my work helps people think more critically about the design and messages they see every day, especially around culture, identity, and beauty. I want my work to spark reflection and conversation, encouraging people to feel more confident in questioning and embracing more honest, inclusive ways of seeing the world.
